I chose to emulate Edward Weston, specifically his vegetables within his natural studies. His photographs dealt with texture and lighting, in a slightly scientific documentary fashion. The images highlight the curves and natural beauty of these objects.
I have a very deep relationship with vegetables, since I consider myself somewhat of a gastronomic. Raw vegetables, while intriguing in their own right, serve as functional objects that help create a final beautiful product in my eyes. I approached my project with that in mind, taking bites out of the vegetables I photographed to symbolize the way I truly view them.
